What is extraversion? It is a core personality trait and one of the Big Five personality traits. Both extraverts and introverts possess unique traits. Some positive traits exhibited by extraverts are warmth, assertiveness, a cheerful attitude, a talkative nature and being action-oriented.

The Big Five are core traits which make up an individual’s character and personality; extraversion is one of them. These traits help us understand who our current employees or new hires are. When using personality assessments and tests to get a true picture of who your potential candidates are, you get the chance to identify whether they are an extravert or introvert. This allows you to see whextraversionich role in your company they would best be suited for.

Introverts also have their own distinct personality traits. Many rank low in extraversion and tend to be quieter, less involved in social situations, and more reserved. This does not mean that introverts dislike social situations; it simply means they do not need as much social stimulation, and are able to spend more time working alone.

Keeping your company’s culture and objectives in mind can help you determine the employee personality type you would enjoy working with, and the type of job role you wish to assign. All human beings are different, and besides education and skill level, personality also plays a tremendous part in work performance, compatibility, and success in their particular field.
